Ambassadørens tale: “India’s aggression against Pakistan—particularly the missile attacks—shows a blatant disregard for the sensitivity of our border issues. Our sovereignty has been violated. Let me state this clearly: we will not tolerate such actions under any circumstances. Pakistan’s armed forces have both the capacity and the capability to respond. Even Indian media acknowledges this. Our nation stands united, passionate, and prepared to defend itself, and by the grace of Allah, we have always come together in critical moments—both within Pakistan and among our diaspora around the world.
The people of Pakistan desire peace. Every citizen hopes for it. But peace cannot be achieved through desire alone—it requires sincerity and cooperation. I want to assure you that I have worked closely with the Prime Minister and the Government of Pakistan, and we have made genuine, respectful efforts to pursue peace and dialogue with India over the years.
Unfortunately, India continues to export terrorism. Its involvement isn’t limited to our region—take Canada, for example. The Canadian government has openly stated that India had a role in the assassination of a Canadian citizen. The United States has made similar allegations. From North America to South Asia, India’s actions have raised grave concerns. This is not just Pakistan’s problem—it is an international issue. Those of us who believe in the rule of law must condemn such actions.
Denmark, like Pakistan, is a peace-loving nation and a member of the UN Security Council. It is in our mutual interest to raise awareness of these issues. In a world increasingly governed by might instead of the law, the stakes are high, and the uncertainty is real. We must speak up wherever we are.
I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the contributions of the Pakistani community worldwide, particularly here in Denmark. Hundreds of doctors and nurses working in Danish healthcare were trained in Pakistani institutions. Their service is a testament to the strength of our education system and our people. Denmark has also benefited from Pakistan’s human capital, and this is something we should all be proud of.
There’s someone in this audience I’d like to quietly recognize—an individual originally from Pakistan who has achieved remarkable success here. Though they may prefer not to be named, their journey stands as a powerful example of what is possible. It is a source of pride for us all and serves as an inspiration to our children, showing how one can thrive in this society while remaining true to their roots, their family, and their country. Thank you all very much for your time.”
